Satsang is also referred to as preaching of truth. There are more than 5,000 RSSB centres throughout India, and internationally RSSB-affiliated organizations hold meetings in more than 90 countries. This is an religious organization which is not affiliated with any political party. The main purpose of Radha Swami Satsanga Beas is to give a religious message to the people. Radha means the soul and the Soami means the lord of the soul. Satsang is combination of two words, sat means truth and sang means to be with or associated with. There are more than 20 million people who follow this ideology in the world. Radha Soami name derives from the gopi as Radha and Soami which refers to Krishna as swami, or as "lord of the soul which means radha is denoted as soul and swami is denoted as "The only one God (creator of universe)". The movement started in Agra, its contemporaneous headquarters are in Beas, with parallel branches found in India and outside India. Dera Beas is about 25 Km from Jalandhar and 40 Km from Amritsar. This place is also connected by railway route. Dera Beas has more than 4000 acres of land. In 1861, for the first time on the day of Basant Panchami in the Indian subcontinent, it was released to the common people. RSSB’s (Radha Soami Satsang Beas) main centre is Dera Baba Jaimal Singh, District Amritsar, Beas, Punjab . Shiv Dayāl singh was born 24 August 1818 (Agra, Uttar Pradesh) and died on 15 June 1878 (Agra). He was the Sant Satguru of Sant Mat and Radhasoami Faith. He is also called as Soami ji Maharaj by followers and devotees. Food grown at some centres is donated to local food banks.Radha Swami Satsang is a religious organization established by Shri Shiv Dayal Singh. Concern for the environment is reflected in such activities as water management, stream and wetland preservation and restoration, organic farming, and historical buildings restoration. Efforts are made to enhance the natural surroundings by planting trees and creating green areas. Science of the Soul Study Centres are designed to be harmonious with local architectural styles and environmental conditions. They are constructed and maintained primarily by volunteers who donate their time and resources. The centres are not used for social events or ceremonies such as weddings or funerals, nor for fundraising activities. RSSB owns properties worldwide usually called "Science of the Soul Study Centres" where meetings are held and members can do voluntary service. Members need not give up their cultural identity or religious preference to follow this path. There are no rituals, ceremonies, hierarchies or mandatory contributions, nor are there compulsory gatherings. The philosophy teaches a personal path of spiritual development which includes a vegetarian diet, abstinence from intoxicants, a moral way of life and the practice of daily meditation. RSSB is trying to maintain the core of spirituality without allowing it to take on a formal structure. With the passage of time and changing social values, the basic spiritual teachings become embellished with extra rules and considerations, and eventually take the shape of a religion.

The basis of every religion is spirituality. It is a non-profit organization with no affiliation to any political or commercial organizations. Today RSSB holds meetings in more than 90 countries worldwide. RSSB was established in India in 1891 and gradually began spreading to other countries. There are a number of other contemporary movements that use the name ‘Radha Soami’ but Radha Soami Satsang Beas is not associated with any of them. In the Indian language, Radha Soami means ‘lord of the soul’, satsang describes a group that seeks truth, and Beas refers to the town near which the main centre is located in northern India.
